my summer body is really getting there!

happy summer!

starting the summer off right!

I’m actually really pleased (for once) with how today went! I ate cleanly all day today:

homemade fruit smoothie for breakfast, tiny turkey sandwhich w/ lettuce and tomato with pretzels for lunch, lots of water, pretzels as an afternoon snack, homemade quesidillias (grilled chicken, cheese, whole wheat tortilla, organic salsa) for dinner

AND i was outside being active a lot today, AND i just did a super-de-duper hard workout.  TWICE. I’m planning to keep this up, especially now that its summer time, because of all the bikinis and short shorts i’ll be wearing :) today I had a pool party (last exam today WOOP WOOP!) so I had to make sure I felt good in my bikini, which I did! and I have another party where I’ll be wearing a bathing suit tomorrow too. So lots of water and clean eating, plus some form of cardio tomorrow morning (probably a run). I’m just so happy its summer, and I’m freeeeee! I’ll have plenty of time to work out and actually do a proper warm-up and cool-down (which I really slack off about).

Today’s workout was the Pop Pilates Bikini Blaster 3: Abs!

it was SOOOOOO hard!! I felt like doing it once wasn’t enough though, so I pushed myself to do it twice. You’re really sweating and shaking and your heart will be beating veryyy fast. Well at least mine did. And my arms are shaking as I type this! The second time I did it I had to pause the video two or three times and take a quick couple second break because my wrists were hurting and I was shaky and tired haha. But I’m glad I pushed myself to do it twice. I hate the feeling of finishing a workout and not feeling like you worked hard enough. But by doing it twice, and trying to do each move without stopping (and maybe taking a little longer of a break in between every few moves) I feel like I worked pretty hard. I’ve done the other two Bikini Blasters- they’re all FABULOUS! And by fabulous, I mean really hard. But exactly what I need. The HIIT one I can’t even do the amount of times you’re supposed to- I can only do it twice, when you’re supposed to do it 4 times! But I will keep doing it so I’ll get better. The 2nd one, for legs, is really good. It may not seem as hard at first, or at least to me it didn’t, but I did it on Wednesday and my legs are still pretty sore. And this ab one is great too!

So that’s my long blog post. I’m gonna go downstairs, get a big glass of water and some yogurt, and relax. I’ll probably then put away my school books (YAY!), do some research about getting a learner’s permit (I’m a little behind) and start doing some stuff to get ready for my exchange trip to JAPAN in less than a week! So exciting!

I love summer :)

Vegan Banana Cinnamon French Toast
Adapted from Veg Web
Ingredients:
2 Large Bananas (sliced)
2/3 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
2 or 3 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tbsp Hemp Hearts (optional)
Ezikiel Bread (as many slices needed)
Olive Oil (for pan)
How To:
Heat a pan at a medium temperature & grease with some olive oil. In a blender blend bananas, vanilla almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and hemp hearts until you reach a liquid texture. Pour batter into bowl. Soak slices of Ezikiel Bread in the batter. Make sure bread is fully coated and place slices onto heated & greased pan. Cook at medium heat until bread is cooked and no longer soggy. (It may take a while too cook, but don’t turn up the heat or else you’ll burn the outside and have a soggy inside.)
Once bread is cooked and cooled, I like to top it with berries, hemp hearts & a little Pure Maple Syrup! Enjoy! :)
